Mid-America Transplant maintains constant communications with its network of physicians, hospitals, donors and patients. Unfortunately, its staff was not able to consistently send or receive cellular signal inside its facility so it selected the St. Louis cellular DAS installers at VeriDAS Technologies to design, install and commission an in-building cellular signal booster system. VeriDAS worked with Mid-America Transplant's team to identify all of the signal "dead zones" and analyze the indoor cellular signal coverage for each of the four carriers: Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.
Mid-America Transplant’s headquarters and laboratory occupy the two lower levels of a large medical building near downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The organization’s staff uses their cell phones to maintain constant communications with its network of physicians, hospitals, donors and patients. Over time, inbound and outbound cellular signal degraded resulting in inconsistent coverage throughout the facility and across the four different cellular carriers used by Mid-America’s staff: Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. The proximity of the building to the nearest cell carrier tower, density of surrounding structures, below-ground workspace and an increased number of cellphone users ultimately created a two-story indoor cellular dead zone.
VeriDAS worked closely with Mid-America Transplant to pinpoint all of the cellular signal “dead zones” on both floors and analyzed the indoor cellular signal coverage for each of the four carriers used by its staff: Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. This included cellular signal testing and benchmarking. VeriDAS then reviewed the facility’s floor plans to design an in-building carrier-grade Cellular Distributed Antenna System (DAS) that would extend and amplify cellular signal coverage for all four carriers inside the building. VeriDAS also coordinated with Mid-America to schedule off-hours installation around the organization’s work hours so operations would not be interrupted.
VeriDAS scheduled the Cellular DAS installation before and after Mid-America Transplant’s standard operating hours to minimize disruptions and distractions from the organization’s important work. The Cellular Distributed Antenna System includes a Class B LTE Carrier-Grade Cellular Bi-Directional Amplifer (Cellular BDA), rooftop donor antenna and in-building omni-directional antennas. After the signal booster system was quickly installed, VeriDAS followed up to confirm Mid-America’s team was experiencing consistent and reliable cellular coverage on both floors across all four carriers – they are!
