Schedule RF Grid Testing for Public Safety Radio Signal Coverage

VeriDAS Technologies conducts onsite RF Grid Testing measure & map in-building public safety radio signal levels as required by NFPA 1221 & IFC 510 fire codes for Emergency Responder Radio Coverage (ERRC) INSIDE newly constructed buildings (including additions and underground structures). This RF signal audit and survey will determine if a Public Safety Distributed Antenna System (DAS) is needed, and if so, the resulting data will enable us to custom engineer an indoor signal enhancement system that complies with local building & fire code.

RF Grid Testing & Grid Reporting

VeriDAS performs onsite RF Grid Testing and Grid Reporting to measure and map indoor public safety radio signal coverage.  This important step benchmarks unamplified inbound and outbound RF transmissions.

Our RF experts will travel to any site location (before or after construction has started) to evaluate the following factors:

  • Spectrum Analysis
  • Propogation Analysis
  • Unamplified Radio Frequency (RF) Measurements Including RF Noise Floor & Donor Signal Strength
  • RF Inhibitors: Building Materials, Terrain, Topography, Electrical Interference & Surrounding Structures
  • Donor Signal Sources: Public Safety Radio Network Towers

In addition to field signal measurements, VeriDAS also researches, documents and produces a report of technical and regulatory information necessary to determine the need for and/or the scope of a compliant Distributed Antenna System. Our RF Benchmark Reports include:

  • Local Public Safety radio communications system (i.e. P25) specifications (including bands, channels, FCC licenses and donor tower locations)
  • Local AHJ fire code enforcement requirements for in-building Emergency Responder Radio Coverage Systems (ERRCS)
  • 20-Grid RF signal coverage maps and measurements of indoor signal levels
  • DAS Certification/ Letter of Compliance for AHJ if in-building RF signal coverage is acceptable
  • Engineered DAS design and plan with recommendations for signal enhancement system if necessary
