Looking for Experienced DAS Integrators in St. Louis?

Hospital Selects St. Louis DAS Integrators @ VeriDAS for In-Building Wireless Public Safety Distributed Antenna System

A large hospital system partnered with the experienced DAS integrators of VeriDAS Technologies to design a compliant in-building wireless Public Safety DAS (distributed antenna system) - also called an Emergency Responder Radio Coverage Systems (ERRCS) - for a new 500,000 square foot healthcare facility in St. Louis.

CHALLENGE

The new hospital facility required an Emergency Responder Radio Coverage System (ERRCS), also commonly called an in-building Public Safety DAS (distributed antenna system), to extend the St. Louis public safety radio network signal inside buildings and throughout the large campus (including underground parking structures). This DAS installation would enable first responders (fire, police and medical services) to communicate with each other and with dispatch while responding to emergencies inside buildings and on campus.

SOLUTION

VeriDAS Technologies worked closely with the hospital on the DAS installation from the beginning and throughout the major construction project. In addition to collaborating with the healthcare provider, VeriDAS also coordinated with the St. Louis AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) to understand the specifications of the local DAS fire code related to Emergency Responder Radio Coverage Systems (ERRCS) and the inspection and certification process necessary to receive an occupancy permit. The St. Louis DAS integrators role included:

  • Pre-Construction Floor Plan Analysis
  • ERRCS Regulatory Report
  • Coordination with Local AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction)
  • RF Site Survey + Benchmarking
  • Coordination with Public Safety Radio Network Administrator + FCC License Holder
  • DAS Engineered Design
  • DAS Equipment, Parts + Component Sales
  • Project Management
  • Installation, Commissioning + Testing
  • DAS Certification
RESULTS

VeriDAS and the hospital carefully coordinated the DAS installation of the in-building Public Safety DAS with the larger construction timeline. This allowed the hospital system to optimize resources, keep construction on schedule and complete the project on budget. Additionally, the Emergency Responder Radio Coverage System (ERRCS) meets performance standards and complies with local St. Louis fire & building code.
